England, Japan, Spain, and Argentina qualify for the quarterfinals of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2023



Lausanne, Switzerland: The last day of the league stage matches at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2023 had a few twists and turns. While the United States couldn’t qualify for the quarterfinals even after winning by a 6-2 margin against New Zealand, England made their way into the top 8 although they lost to Japan 1-4.

SANTIAGO, Chile – The final pool play match for Pool D in the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup was a thrilling one between the No. 5 U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team and No. 12 New Zealand. Needing a five-goal win to finish in the top half of their pool, the Junior Eagles just fell short with a 6-2 victory. Player of the Match Abby Tamer (Whitmore Lake, Mich.) tallied three goals in the high-scoring affair.

NZ Officials Appointed to Pinnacle Tournaments



Hockey New Zealand continues to make significant strides in the development of its officials, with several members of the hockey community receiving appointments to officiate in various international tournaments. These assignments not only underscore the talent and dedication of the officials but also reflect the ongoing efforts of Hockey NZ to foster the growth and expertise of its community.





Indoor Hockey on the up in New Zealand



New Zealand’s Indoor Hockey programme has been earning its place in administration folklore over recent months. A men’s and women’s team attended the FIH sanctioned Sultan Nazrin Shah Cup Men’s International Indoor Hockey Tournament and Tuanku Zara Cup Women’s International Indoor Hockey Tournament in Malaysia. We also saw the first of three national events, The NZ Open took place in Levin, November, and is to be closely followed by a Master’s tournament and U18 Tournament at the same venue.  On top of that preparations are underway to send U21 National teams to the Australian champs in early January 2024.

New Delhi: Day 1 of the 1st Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Men Academy Championship 2023 – (Zone A) witnessed Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy win their match in the Sub Junior category while Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy Bhagta, HAR Hockey Academy Raja Karan Hockey Academy and Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy won their respective matches in the Junior category.
