Argentina book ticket to Paris with exciting Pan Am win over hosts, Chile
The final three minutes of the Pan American Games men’s final were about as dramatic as you could have possibly imagined but Argentina sealed their spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a 3-1 win over hosts, Chile. A capacity crowd taunted the 11-time Pan Am Games champions for a full 60 minutes and despite nearly every video referral call tilting in Chile’s favour, they could not find a response to Argentina’s second goal.

Scholfield files game winner in 100th appearance as Canada takes bronze over USA
Canada’s Red Caribou defeated the United States 3-2 to win the bronze medal at the XIX Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Oliver Scholfield scored the game-winning goal in his 100th appearance for Canada, while Brendan Guraliuk and Fin Boothroyd also got on the scoresheet. Christian de Angelis and Aki Kaeppeler scored for the United States the game also marked the 50th international for USA keeper Jonathan Klages, who had an outstanding tournament.

In a nail-biting matchup, Canada emerged victorious in the Pan American Games men’s bronze medal match, defeating 49th parallel rivals, USA 3-2. In a thrilling back-and-forth battle in Santiago, Canada secured a crucial win to keep their Paris 2024 Olympic dreams alive.

Johor Bahru (Malaysia): The Indian Colts lost to world No.2 ranked Germany by 6-3 in the Semi-Final of Sultan of Johor Cup. In a dominating display Germany’s Christian Franz (16’), Nikas Berendts (29’, 45’), Peer Hinrichs (43’,48’), and Sperling Florian (49’) found the back of the net while Amandeep Lakra (35’), Uttam Singh (58’) and Rohit (60’) scored for India.

Germany won the Sultan of Johor Cup when they took part for the first time in 2012. Both India and Germany then played the final too, with the latter winning on a tight score of 3-2. In the pool stage, however, its India that defeated them 3-1. Eleven winters later, the equation did stand. Germany seemed to have progressed quite a lot, as was exemplified today when they outplayed the continent’s best team. Scoring a brace in the last three quarters, it made India look like a minnows and walked away with 6-3 wins after taking 6-1 lead in the 49th minute.

We will not see Miles Bukkens again at the World Cup under 21 years. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — With a 2-0 win over No. 2 Duke (16-4, 5-1) Friday night, the No. 1 North Carolina field hockey team (14-3, 5-1 ACC) captured its seventh consecutive ACC Championship and 26th overall in program history. The Tar Heels’ defense came up with three consecutive game defining stops on penalty corners in the third quarter that typified the Tar Heels’ lock-tight defense on the night.

Ranchi: Hockey India held its 13th Congress on Friday, 3rd November 2023 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium meeting hall. The Congress saw the announcement of several important decisions and initiatives to boost the sport in the country. In a groundbreaking move to strengthen their State Member Units, Hockey India has decided to award Rs 10.00 lakhs to each Member Unit that won medals at the Hockey India National Championships held throughout the year 2023. The State Member Units that will currently benefit from this initiative in 2023 are Hockey Haryana, Hockey Jharkhand, Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh Hockey and Hockey Chandigarh.
