Argentina men through to Pan Am finals with win over USA



The first men’s semi-final of the XIX Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile landed in favour of Argentina after a 2-0 win over a gritty and disciplined USA side. Two first half goals, one from each of Lucas Martinez and Santiago Tarazona, were the difference makers with no goals coming off Argentina’s seven penalty corners.





Chile make history, qualify for Pan Am finals with shootout win over Canada



After a nailbiting shootout, with the rain pouring and the home crowd roaring, Chile made their first Pan American Games final with a 3-2 shootout win over Canada. In regular time, goals came in the second quarter from Canada captain Gordie Johnston and in the fourth quarter from Chile’s Franco Becerra.

National women’s hockey team maintained their unbeaten run at the ongoing African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 qualifiers in South Africa after seeing off Namibia 1-0 on Wednesday in their final preliminary group stage match.





South Africa Hockey Men complete perfect group stage with victory over Uganda



South Africa played Uganda in their final group stage with their place in the Semi-Final already secured due to the earlier result. Uganda knew they needed to merely contain the South Africans to less than a 14-goal deficit in order to make it through to the Semi-Final.

Indian women's hockey forward Vandana Katariya Katariya completed 300 international hockey matches during the course of the match India 2 - 1 Japan in the Jharkhand Women's Hockey Champions Trophy 2023, Ranchi.


Vandana Katariya is the first Indian women's hockey player to reach the 300 caps mark. Vandana Katariya made her debut in senior international hockey matches in 2011.
