Kelsey Bing stars as USA stun New Zealand in shoot-outs



FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23 action got underway from Wellington, as hosts New Zealand faced off against the United States, with both teams playing their first game of the season. USA took the lead early in the second quarter and New Zealand had to wait till the final minute to find the leveller, as USA came close to registering an outright victory. The game headed into a shoot-out and Kelsey Bing came up big in the goal for USA, keeping the hosts out on all 4 of their attempts to get the shoot-out win and the bonus point for the visitors.





USWNT Produces Solid Start in Debut of 2022-23 FIH Hockey Pro League

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – In their first game of the 2022-23 FIH Hockey Pro League season, the No. 16 U.S. Women’s National Team faced No. 9 New Zealand. Hosted at the National Hockey Centre in Wellington, New Zealand, USA took the lead in the second quarter, but the Black Sticks tallied on a late penalty corner goal in the final minute of regulation to tie the match and force it into a shootout. The United Eagles earned the extra point after finishing 2-0 following four rounds and behind a stellar shootout performance from USA goalkeeper Kelsey Bing (Houston, Texas).

Cape Town - SA Hockey Men’s player Keenan Horne says the team is devastated by the South African Hockey Association (SAHA) decision to decline an invitation by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to join the Hockey Pro League in 2023-24.

NAMIBIA bowed out of the Indoor Hockey World Cup in Pretoria on Friday when their men lost 3-2 to the United States, but despite the disappointment of defeat, they had already made history by reaching the quarterfinals.

The indoor team from Balinteer’s  journey has been a geographical and emotional odyssey. The team is relishing playing at such a high club level  in a country which is the cradle of European and World indoor hockey.





TRR lose to Pinoke in Eurohockey Indoor Club Trophy



Three Rock Rovers 8-3 loss to Pinoke flattered the Dutch side. The Dutch side containing two of the beaten World Cup finalists went into a 2-0 lead at half time but Rovers emphatically clawed their way back into the game with two Jonas Althusmann goals.





Clydesdale Western get started with a win and a defeat at EuroHockey Women`s Indoor Club Trophy in Cambrai



It was mixed fortunes for Clydesdale Western on the opening day at the women`s EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy in Cambrai, in the first match they thumped Croatian champions Zelina but then fell to Railway Union from Ireland later in the day.

Following a minutes silence for the victims of the Turkey/Syria earthquake Railway Union played the Slovakian champions Raca in the first match of the Eurohockey Club Indoor strategy. Railway got off to a strong start going 2-0 up in the first quarter. Lily Lloyd scored the first goal using her skill to score from open play while captain Orla Fox scored from Railway’s second corner.





East Grinstead’s Women In European Indoor Action



East Grinstead have travelled to Cambrai in northern France to compete in the EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy this weekend.  They qualified thanks to their Super 6s title win at the Copper Box Arena in 2022, and will be looking to make it a successful conclusion to their indoor season.
