On the second day of men's play at ODESUR 2022, three games took place. Argentina faced off against Peru at first light for group A. Then Chile took on Brazil before giving way to the final game of the day, Bolivia and Paraguay.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa - As crossovers are on the horizon, the fourth and fifth days of the 2022 World Masters Hockey (WMH) World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa came to a close. Pool play for most divisions wrap up on Friday, except for the U.S. O-65 Women's Masters Team completing play on Saturday and the U.S. O-55 Men's Masters Team on Sunday.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) can reveal that Savita Punia and PR Sreejesh have been voted the FIH Goalkeepers of the Year 2021-22, in the women’s and men’s categories respectively.

Both players have won the award for the second consecutive year. Both PR Sreejesh and Savita Punia led their teams to medals at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

PR Sreejesh is the third player to win the award back-to-back. Similarly, Savita Punia is the third athlete to win the goalkeeper of the year award.

New Delhi: India’s PR Sreejesh and Savita Punia were on Wednesday voted FIH Men’s and Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year respectively for the second year running, on the back of their strong shows under the bar.





SA Indoor Hockey Men named for Windhoek Test Series



The SA Hockey Indoor Men’s side has today been announced for a five match test series in Windhoek at the end of the Month. Both Southern African sides are gearing up for the FIH Hockey Indoor World Cup which takes place in Pretoria and will be the first tournament featuring two African sides.

Prabhleen Kaur Grewal, a resident of Kila Raipur, has become the first Punjabi woman to be selected for Canada’s Women’s Nextgen Field Hockey Programme to be organised in Alberta. Prabhleen’s elder sister Harleen had also brought laurels to the region by fetching a silver medal for her team in the National Field Hockey Championship (U-18).
