Dutch men secure Pro League title

Leonas sweeten their title going undefeated as USA women and Belgium men also find victories



Argentina became the first women’s team to go undefeated in Pro League play after their 3-2 win over India today. Meanwhile, the USA showed the result of their constant improvement with a 2-1 win over China, also the Americans’ first win in the season. The Belgian women also dropped England 4-1 to overcome yesterday’s result.

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – Trailing early in their second FIH Hockey Pro League game of the weekend at HC Rotterdam in The Netherlands, the No. 15 U.S. Women’s National Team produced a solid performance, including a composed second half, to secure the win over No. 13 China. After falling behind 6 minutes into the game, USA responded and equalized off a penalty stroke at the end of the first quarter before finding the game winner at the start of the third for the 2-1 victory.

Belgium earned revenge with a victory over England's men at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre; capped off by three goals in the last three minutes when the home side had removed their goalkeeper.

The Indian junior women’s hockey team started its Uniphar U-23 5 Nations Tournament with a comprehensive 4-1 win over hosts Ireland. Annu (12th), Deepika Soreng (25th), Monika Dipi Toppo (45th) and Beauty Dungdung (47) netted one goal each for India while Mikayla Power (19’) scored the solitary goal for Ireland.
