Germany beat South Africa to move to second in FIH Hockey Pro League



The university town of Potchefstroom in South Africa has been home to some fantastic FIH Hockey Pro League men's matches over the past 14 days and it all came to an end with another defeat for the host nation at the hands of Germany.

Christopher Rühr, Malte Hellwig and Paul-Philipp Kaufmann all scored as Germany ended their Hockey Pro League trip to South Africa on a victorious note.

The FIH Pro League Potchefstroom leg concluded tonight in near perfect conditions. For the South Africans the opportunity to play the top nations in World Hockey was massive in the development of the team towards the FIH Hockey World Cup, the Commonwealth Games and other challenges they are due to face in the next couple of months. Germany had, on the other hand, the perfect three game stint so far, with a 100% record.

India name 20-member squad for Men's Hockey Pro League matches against Spain

Experienced midfielder Manpreet Singh to lead the team along with Harmanpreet Singh as vice-captain in Bhubaneshwar.



Hockey India today named the 20-member Indian Men's Hockey Team who will represent the country in the upcoming FIH Men's Hockey Pro League matches at home in Bhubaneswar, Odisha against Spain. The matches will be held over the weekend on 26th and 27th February 2022.





India goes with tried and tested for tie against Spain

The Indian team will see a new face in 25-year-old Sukhjeet from Punjab, who was picked in the core group following an impressive stint during the maiden Hockey India Inter-Department National Championship last year.

Hockey India on Sunday announced a 22-member India squad for the FIH Women’s Hockey Pro League matches against Spain on February 26 and 27. The matches will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
