United States cruise into semi-finals at Men's Pan American Cup

The United States enjoyed a comfortable victory over Mexico to book their place in the semi-finals of the Men's Pan American Cup with a 100 per cent record in Santiago.

SANTIAGO, Chile – The No. 22 U.S. Men’s National Team met No. 29 Mexico in their final pool match of the 2022 Pan American Cup (PAC). Scoreless after the first quarter, USA broke things open in the remaining frames to go on and win 7-1 as well as secure the top finish in Pool B and automatic advancement to the semifinals.

Tied 2-2 at halftime, Trinidad and Tobago was looking to challenge the Canadian side after putting two goals past Antoni Kindler in the second quarter. Despite efforts to find their first win, two more goals from Gordon Johnston and another from Matthew Barnett would guarantee the Red Caribou’s spot in the next stage of the Pan American Cup.

T&T senior men's hockey squad bowed out of contention for a spot at the 2023 FIH Odisha World Cup in India after a third straight defeat in Pool B of the Pan American Cup at the Prince of Wales Country Club, La Reina, Santiago, Chile on Monday.

2022 Asia Women's Cup: Quartet seal World Cup qualification

Four teams have progressed to the semi-finals of the Women's Hockey Asia Cup, with all four winning by huge margins in their final group matches in Muscat in Oman.





Indian Women formalise their eighth entry for the World Cup

India qualified for the 2022 World Cup after it made it to the semifinal of the ongoing Asia Cup in Muscat, Oman. Having defeated both South Eastern Asian teams, Malaysia in the opener and Singapore on its third and last pool match today, India landed second in its pool behind Japan. Since Asia has a giant proportion of qualification — four out of eight teams competing in the Asia Cup – India has formalized its entry for Spain-Netherlands.

Gurjit Kaur scored a hat-trick and five other players too netted goals. The Indian hockey team also sealed a spot for the Women's Hockey World Cup, to be played in July.

Muscat: Gurjit Kaur slammed a hat-trick while Monika and Jyoti scored a brace each as defending champions India spanked lowly Singapore 9-1 to register their second win in Pool A and qualify for the semi-finals of the women's Asia Cup hockey tournament in Muscat on Monday.

France invited to the Pro League?



After the announcement made by the Canadian Federation on Tuesday to give up their participation in the Pro League due to the global health situation, the FIH is currently looking for a new candidate to replace the North Americans for this 3rd edition of the men’s competition. “ The goal is indeed for Canada to be replaced. We follow the same logic as before, namely that we contact the teams according to their positions in the world ranking. France is therefore indeed one of the nations approached ”, confirmed to us, this afternoon, the International Hockey Federation.

Hockey India on Tuesday announced the Senior Men core probable group who will play major International Tournaments this year starting with the FIH Hockey Pro League starting next month. The 33 players were chosen following a three-week camp for a group of 60 players who were called-up to SAI, Bengaluru basis their performances in various Hockey India Annual National Tournaments.

Watsonians and Clydesdale win U15 Indoor Finals



The inaugural U15 Indoor National Club Cup was a huge success, bringing together 12 of the best young teams in the country.  The event, on Sunday 23 January at Bells Sports Centre in Perth, was the first national youth indoor competition for two years; and the spectators enjoyed a feast of exciting indoor hockey in a festival atmosphere.
