Belgian Juniors hope to write another epoch



Belgium finished runners-up to India at the last Junior World Cup in Lucknow five years ago. Their senior team then won the 2018 World Cup in Bhubaneswar, the first-ever title by a Belgian team in any sport.





Argentina Juniors battle odds in the hope of reviving the spirit of 2005

Argentina are an enigma when it comes to men’s hockey. FIH Junior World Cup champions at Rotterdam 2005, the national sides – both junior and senior – oscillate between mediocre and superlative.





Junior World Cup team includes Five Dar Hockey Academy Boys

For the last many years, Lahore-based Dar Hockey Academy, which recruits players from all over the country, has been a conveyor belt of talent for Pakistan`s national teams.

The Junior World Cup featuring teams from 16 nations is being held in Bhubaneswar, India from Nov 24 to Dec 5.

The Pakistan team for the Junior World Cup includes five players from the country`s finest hockey nursery.

Academy boys in Pakistan`s Junior World Cup Team: Waqar goalkeeper (Lahore)), Aqueel Ahmed (Kohiwala, district Khanewal), Hammad Anjum (Chichawatni, district Sahiwal), Adeel Latif (Lahore)& Abdul Rahman (Kot Radha Kishan, district Kasur)

Two other boys of Dar HA, Ali Aziz & Murtaza Yaqoob, are among the standbys for the Junior World Cup.

All these players have been members of one or more Dar academy teams that toured Holland, Belgium, and Malaysia in recent years.

Argentina ace Noel Barrionuevo bows out



Three months after guiding Las Leonas to a silver medal at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, legendary Argentina defender Noel Barrionuevo has announced her retirement from international hockey, revealing her decision in an emotional message on Instagram.  





SA Hockey Womens Squad Named for African Cup of Nations



The African Hockey Cup of Nations takes place in Accra in Ghana from the 17-23 January 2022. The team that finishes top of the tournament will qualify for the FIH Hockey World Cup in Spain and Netherlands in July this year.





Savita to lead India women's hockey team as Rani Rampal rested

An 18 member Indian women's hockey team under new captain, Savita, was named Friday for the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held between December 5 - 12 in Donghae, South Korea.





USWNT to Host Canada in Pre-PAC Preparation Series in Chula Vista



CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The No. 15 U.S. Women’s National Team will host No. 13 Canada at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. for a pre-Pan American Cup preparation series. Although there will be five matches played, only the final two will sanctioned by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).
