'Friendly' requests for Under-21 squad in JWC

The Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) confirmed that no less than five teams, including Germany, Belgium, Spain, France and the Netherlands, have requested friendlies before the tournament in Bhubaneswar. -Pic credit to Facebook MHC

THE national Under-21 squad have received invitations to play friendly matches ahead of the Junior World Cup (JWC) in India on Nov 24-Dec 5.

An already competitive EY Hockey League season got a little bit more interesting on Saturday when Pembroke Wanderers and Old Alexandra moved to the top of the table after the former inflicted on Pegasus their first defeat of the campaign and the latter registered their fourth win in a row.





Wildcats and Watsonians at the Top



After today`s catch-up Scottish Premiership matches, Wildcats have moved into pole position ahead of Grange, while in the women`s league Watsonians take over at the top on goal difference from rivals Edinburgh University.

No. 3 Rutgers women’s field hockey (18-3) won the programs first ever Big Ten Tournament championship on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over No. 2 Michigan (15-4). The Scarlet Knights achieve glory in front of a Big Ten Championship Game record attendance of 1,617.
