FIH Hockey Junior World Cup to be played behind closed doors due to COVID-19 pandemic

The junior showpiece event will be played at the Kalinga Stadium here from 24 November to 5 December. Hosts India are the defending champions.

Bhubaneswar: The men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup beginning on 24 November will be held behind closed doors as the organisers feel it will be difficult to enforce COVID-19 protocols if spectators turn up in large numbers.





Scotland Teams reach World Ranking High

Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Bengal scored thumping wins over their respective rivals on the sixth day of the 11th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship on Tuesday. While Chhattisgarh defeated Himachal 14-1 in a Pool D match, Punjab beat Arunachal 6-0 in Pool E.





Women empowerment can bank on this team

This bank team is making a huge statement. The UCO Bank Women’s Hockey Association, participating in the Inter-Department National championship in Kolkata, was set up in 2017 with a dream of women’s empowerment.





Tight tussles the order for day 2

No. 1 Iowa field hockey creating special season

The Hawkeyes have a perfect 16-0 record through the 2021 fall season and clinched the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Expectations were high for Iowa field hockey ahead of the 2021-22 season. The Hawkeyes started the year ranked third in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s preseason poll.





Rutgers field hockey ready to host Big Ten Tournament

For the first time in program history, the No. 3 Rutgers field hockey team will host the Big Ten Tournament. Play gets started next Thursday at the Bauer Track and Field Complex on Busch campus. It continues the next day and wraps up on that Sunday.

No. 17 Virginia won two crucial matches this weekend, winning 2-1 over a highly-touted No. 12 Syracuse team on the road Friday before securing a 4-1 victory over Drexel Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers (10-6, 3-2 ACC) hold fast at third in the ACC standings heading into a clash with No. 9 North Carolina Friday with heavy seeding implications for both the ACC and NCAA tournaments.





Duke field hockey splits final two games of regular season
