Indian Men’s Hockey Team wins thriller against France 5-4 in 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023

Captain Harmanpreet Singh and Jugraj Singh scored braces



Valencia: The Indian Men’s Hockey Team defeated France 5-4 in their fourth and final match of the 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023 on Saturday. The match that went back and forth throughout its duration saw Jugraj Singh (20’, 60’) and Harmanpreet Singh (25’, 56’) scoring a brace each while Vivek Sagar Prasad (16’) contributed one goal for India.

The South African Women’s Indoor Hockey team fell at the last hurdle as they lost 4-2 to Namibia in the final of the inaugural Kathea Nkosi Cup at the Wynberg Military base on Tuesday, 19 December 2023.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Khalid Sajjad Khokar has been removed from his post and now Balochistan-based Tariq Bugti from Balochistan became the new ad hoc president of PHF.

Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar approved the new appointment under Article 15.

The much-awaited FIH Awards for 2023 were announced on Tuesday. These awards are determined through a comprehensive voting process involving an Expert Panel, National Associations represented by their team Captains and Coaches, as well as input from fans and media representatives.

Comprising 17 athletes from 15 universities and colleges across North America, the team navigated the logistical challenge of limited training time together.





FIH President meets King of Malaysia and hockey rising stars in Kuala Lumpur



FIH President Tayyab Ikram attended most of the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup Malaysia 2023 in Kuala Lumpur. Beyond attending the matches of this thrilling tournament, he and a delegation of high representatives of the international hockey community had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah, the King of Malaysia, himself a former member of the International Hockey Federation Executive Board.
