While Chile had to satisfy itself at the 12th spot after losing to Korea, Canada finished last in the World Cup at the 16th place.

Spending most of the match tied with their opponent, the Junior Eagles eventually fell in sudden victory shootouts.
South Africa win all African battle in Chile.
Although disappointed that they were not meeting one another for a higher position in the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup, both teams were determined to end the tournament on a high and as the top performing African team, in a repeat of the African Hockey Junior African Cup.

With two top European teams in the pool, Netherlands and Belgium, not many would have given any chance for Pakistan — whose fortunes on the hockey fields are anything but rosy in the current decade. But the team led by Shahid Hannan surprised everyone here in Kuala Lumpur, probably themselves too, with a fighting draw against Belgium today (1-1), which was suffice for it to push them to third spot and thus claim the coveted second position in the Pool of Death.

After USA scored first, the Black Sticks tallied three in the third and another in the fourth. The United Eagles fought to get the match within one, but their comeback came up short, as they fell 4-3.
