Shootout agony for South Africa



South Africa and Korea faced off in the cross-pool playoff on Tuesday in Chile with hopes of securing a top 10 finish still in the objectives. The two sides had met four times previously at a Junior World Cup with Korea winning all of them.

Perfect start for defending champions at FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup



Argentina got their title defence off to the perfect start as the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Malaysia 2023 kicked off in Kuala Lumpur, beating Australia in their opening match of the tournament. A solitary second-half goal from Ignacio Nardolillo was enough to secure the spoils for the defending champions.

BUKIT JALIL: Anticipated as the most exciting match of the day, the Junior World Cup (JWC) Group A clash between Argentina and Australia turned into a subdued affair, resembling a warm-up game rather than a fiercely contested encounter.

India made a winning start to the Junior World Cup beating raw South Korea 4-2, but coach CR Kumar may not be enthused. Establishing total control of the field proceedings in the first half, India fittingly took 3-0 lead but its grip on the game with rise of individual game inter alia and conceded twice on slight improvement shown by the Koreans.

Batch names strong 2024 Kookaburras squad ahead of Olympic year
