China and Korea entered into women's hockey final

The host China defeated India by 4-0 in the first semi final of the women's hockey event in the 19th Asian Games 2022 at Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium Hangzhou. For the Chinese team Zhong Jiaqi, Zou Meirong, Liang Meiya and Gu Bingfeng each scored a goal.

In the second semi final South Korea defeated defending champion Japan by 4-3 in the penalty shootout after the match ended in a 2-2 draw in the regulation full time. For the South Korean team Seo Jung-eun and Park Seung-ae scored goals. For the Japanese team Shiho Kobayakawa and Shihori Oikawa each scored a goal.

Indian Women’s Team goes down 0-4 against China in the Semi-Final of 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022

India will now play against either Korea or Japan in the Bronze medal match on Saturday  



Hangzhou: The Indian Women’s Hockey Team suffered a 0-4 loss against China in the 1st Semi-Final of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. Despite creating multiple chances, India were not able to get on the scoresheet, while China netted four goals through Jiaqi Zhong (25’), Meirong Zou (40’), Meiyu Liang (55’), and Bingfeng GU (60’).

Chinese were a quick learners. Quick learners always teach you in the end. It’s what happened yesterday in the Asian Games’ women hockey final. India defeated China 7-1 in the first match of Pro-League but could hardly beat them 2-1 in the second. It was in January last year. How the Chinese came close to draw India within 24 hours! They learnt their lessons quickly.

Alyson Annan is taking Mandarin lessons. The Chinese women’s team she coaches is working on their English. Together, however, they appear to be on the same page evidenced by a thumping 4-0 victory over India in the Asian Games hockey semi-final at Gongshu Canal Sports Park in Hangzhou, China, on Thursday.

With a place in the final at stake and a chance to secure a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics, India women turned in a performance to forget in its 0-4 loss to host China in the women’s hockey semifinal, here at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Field on Thursday.
