New Delhi: Indian Men’s Hockey Team Captain Harmanpreet Singh is delighted to have been chosen as the country's joint flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the prestigious 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which will take place on 23rd September.





Asian Games hockey preview: One eye on gold, other on Paris 2024

The Indian hockey teams, both men and women, will be hoping to secure podium finishes in Hangzhou and qualify for the Olympics next year.

The Indian hockey teams, both men and women, will aim to secure their Paris Olympics spots with a strong show in China. It’s expected, but winning anything less than gold at the Asian Games would be a major disappointment.





Indian hockey team eyeing qualification to 2024 Paris Olympics through Asiad, says PR Sreejesh

PR Sreejesh is determined to win the gold at Hangzhou to give himself a chance to earn a direct entry to the Paris Olympics next year, and do better there winning a yellow-coated medal.


PR Sreejesh reiterated that age is just a number for a sportsperson and gave the example of tennis great Novak Djokovic in this regard. PTI

New Delhi: At 35, PR Sreejesh is standing at the twilight of his career and the Hangzhou Asian Games is most likely his last appearance at the continental showpiece.

Following are the field hockey records in Asian Games. Field hockey event was first introduced in the third Asian Games in Tokyo, 1958. Pakistan dominant in the men's hockey won eight championships. India being the runners up for the most times won nine silver medals. Malaysia won the most six bronze medals. India won most overall 15 medals in the 16 men's hockey editions.

BERKELEY – The California field hockey team opens America East play this weekend with road contests at UAlbany and Vermont on Friday and Sunday. Friday's match against the Great Danes is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. PT with Sunday's match slated to start at 9 a.m. PT.
