Indian Women’s Hockey Team defeats Malaysia 9-5 in Semi-Final; qualifies for FIH Women Hockey 5s World Cup Oman 2024

Oman: The Indian Women’s Hockey Team entered the Final of the Women’s Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier after defeating Malaysia 9-5 in Salalah, Oman, on Monday. For India, Navjot Kaur (7’, 10, 17’), Monika Dipi Toppo (22’), Mahima Choudhary (14’), Mariana Kujur (9’, 12’) and Jyoti (21’, 26’) were on target. For Malaysia, Zati Muhamad (4’, 5’), Dian Nazeri (10’, 20’) and Aziz Zafirah (16’) were on target.

Oman: The Indian Women's Hockey Team won the inaugural Women's Hockey5s Asia Cup on Monday, which also served as Asia's qualifying tournament for the Women's Hockey 5s World Cup 2024, defeating Thailand 7-2 in the all-important Final. Subsequently, India qualified for the FIH Women Hockey 5s World Cup Oman 2024, finishing first in the Elite Group. For India, Mariana Kujur (2’, 8’), Monika Dipi Toppo (7’), Jyoti (10’, 27’), Navjot Kaur (23’), and Mahima Choudhary (29’) were on target. For Thailand, Kunjira Inpa (5’) and Sanpoung Kornkanok (5’) were on target.

The Malaysian women’s team have qualified for the World Cup 5s.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian women's team beat the odds to qualify for the inaugural Hockey 5s World Cup next year after a hard-fought comeback win against Indonesia in Salalah, Oman, yesterday.
India starts Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier campaign against Bangladesh
After its opening contest against Bangladesh, India will compete against Oman and Pakistan on August 30 and then square off against Malaysia and Japan on August 31.

SANTIAGO, Chile – The idea of holding a Pan American Games (PAG) was first raised at the Los Angeles 1932 Olympic Games, where Latin American representatives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) suggested that a competition among all countries in the Americas be created. The first effort at holding a PAG took place in Dallas, Texas in 1937 as part of a Greater Texas and Pan-American Exposition, but it attracted so little attention it never counted in the records of competition.
