England's men were beaten 5-3 by Olympic champions Belgium in the first pool game of their EuroHockey campaign.
John-John Dohmen becomes highest capped International Hockey player
As John-John Dohmen stepped onto the field for the 454th time for Belgium, in their game against England in the EuroHockey Championships 2023 today, he went past Teun de Nooijer’s record, to become the highest capped player of all time in international hockey.

John-John Dohmen of Belgium created a new world record of the most 454 caps (international hockey matches) during the course of the match played between Belgium and England that Belgium defeated England by a margin of 5-3 in the Men's EuroHockey Championship 2023 at Warsteiner Hockey Park Monchengladbach Germany.
John-John Dohmen, aged 35, has now 454 caps to his name shattered the all time world record of 453 caps created by Teun de Nooijer of Netherlands in his last match in London Olympics Games, 2012.

Düsseldorf: The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team came from behind to draw 3-3 against England at the 4 Nations Tournament - Dusseldorf 2023 on Sunday. Hina Bano (6'), Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (49’) and Mumtaz Khan (53’) scored a goal each for India. Martha Le Huray (4', 19’), and Beth Alexander (9') were on target for England.

New Delhi: Hockey India today named a 39-member core probable group for the Senior Men’s National Coaching Camp scheduled to take place from 21st August 2023 to 18th September 2023 at SAI Centre in Bengaluru. The camp will serve as an opportunity for the players to gear up for the all-important Hangzhou Asian Games, which is scheduled to be held from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in China.
