FIH Hockey Pro League 2023-2024: USA to replace New Zealand



New Zealand’s women’s team will not participate in the next season of the FIH Hockey Pro League. This follows a decision from Hockey New Zealand to withdraw from the competition, despite having avoided relegation on the field of play. However, New Zealand’s hockey’s governing body made it clear that the team would seek to rejoin the FIH Hockey Pro League after 2024. To achieve this, the Black Sticks will need to win the FIH Hockey Nations Cup, which is the qualification path to the FIH Hockey Pro League.





Vantage Black Sticks Women withdraw from Pro League to focus on Olympic preparations



Hockey New Zealand (HNZ) has agreed with the International Hockey Federation (FIH), that despite qualifying, the Vantage Black Sticks Women (VBSW) will not compete in Season 5 of the Hockey Pro League (HPL), commencing December 2023.

U18 Boys and Girls European Championships Reports



Ireland Under 18 girls team began their Pool A campaign at the European Championships in Krefeld with an opening game against France which ended in a 3-1 defeat. Philippine Delemazure gave France a 1-0 in the first quarter from open play. It remained 1-0 at the end of quarter two going into the half time break.

India's oldest living woman Olympian, Mary D'Souza, whose feats in the 1952 Olympics as part of the first batch of women India was sending to the Games remain forgotten in all parts of India except her hometown in Goa, turned 92 on Tuesday.
