Dutch men claim thriller to secure FIH Hockey Pro League spoils, Dutch women wrap up season on a high



Having kicked off in October last year, the men’s 2022-23 FIH Hockey Pro League season came down to one final thrilling title decider between Belgium and the Netherlands in Antwerp. And it was the Dutch defending champions who clinched a rousing 4-2 victory to lift the trophy once again. The victory saw the Netherlands finishing the season top of the table on 35 points.





Netherlands men seal second FIH Hockey Pro League title



With their 4-2 win over Belgium today, Netherlands men finish their season four campaign on 35 points, making them champions of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23 season. With this win, Netherlands become the first team in the men’s competition to win a second title, successfully defending their first title, won in the competition last year.





FIH Pro League champions: Dutch women dominate; Australia, Belgium, Netherlands share men’s honours

The Netherlands have won two of the three women’s FIH Pro League titles till date while Australia, Belgium and the Dutch have a men’s title each.

World Record of the most caps Equalled

John-John Dohmen of Belgium equalled the world record of the most cap 453. The record shared with Teun de Nooijer of Netherlands during the course of the match played between Belgium and Netherlands in the FIH Men's Hockey Pro League 2022-23 in Antwerp on 04 July, 2023.

Unfortunately, Belgium lost the match by 2-4 and Netherlands won FIH Men's Hockey Pro League 2022-23 championship, Great Britain got second and Belgium ended their campaign with
the third position.

John-John Dohmen was born on 24 January, 1988 and he achieved the landmark of 450 international hockey matches in 2023 at the age of 35 while Teun de Nooijer completed 450 international matches at the age of 36.

John-John Dohmen made his debut in senior international hockey in 2008 and completed 453 caps in 2023. His international career just completed 15 years on the other hand Teun de Nooijer made his debut in senior international hockey in 1994 and his career ended with 453 caps in 2012 lasted for 18 years.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Under-21 team came back from a goal down to beat Western Australia (WA) Under-23 2-1 in a friendly at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.





Scotland U21 Women lose to Ireland



Despite dominating the contest Scotland U21 Women lost away from home to Ireland 1-0 in the first of four test matches.





Victory for Scotland U21 women in Ireland



Scotland U21 Women beat Ireland 2-1 away from home in the second game of a four-match series. The previous game ended in a 1-0 win for Ireland, with the series moving into match three on level pegging.





Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2023 to be played in Chennai from August 3



Chennai (India), May 2023: India will host the Hero Asian Champions Trophy between August 3-12, 2023 in Chennai, the capital city of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Top Qualified Adult Teams to Compete in USFHL Adult NCC in July

July 21, 2023 is the opening day for the United States Field Hockey League (USFHL) Adult National Club Championship (NCC) in Newark, Del. at the University of Delaware’s Rullo Field.  These games will decide which adult men’s and women’s teams are the best of the best in 2023.





GB Caps presentations continued in London at FIH Pro League



After last year’s successful presentation day of 130 Great Britain honours caps, a further 19 former Great Britain Hockey players were recognised and presented with their GB Caps during the recent FIH Hockey Pro League matches held at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in June 2023.
