Dutch women dig deep to beat China, Netherlands men bounce back with victory over India



The Dutch women had to dig deep to earn their 4-2 victory after a brave performance by China as FIH Hockey Pro League action continued in Eindhoven. Later in the evening, the Netherlands men did well to rally back from their worst ever home defeat a day earlier at the hands of Australia to beat India 3-2.

Eindhoven: The Indian Men’s Hockey Team put in a very spirited performance against the Netherlands, but lost 2-3 here in the ongoing FIH Hockey Pro League 2022-23 on Saturday. The goals for The Netherlands came from Duco Telgenkamp (7’), Boris Burkhardt (41’) and Tjep Hoedemakers (43’), while it was Sanjay (18’) and Gurjant Singh (46’) who scored for the Indian Men’s Hockey Team.





India suffer 3-2 defeat against the Netherlands

Despite the loss, the Indian men’s hockey team stayed in top position in the FIH Pro League standings. India will play Argentina in their final match on Sunday.

The Indian hockey team lost 3-2 to the Netherlands in Saturday’s FIH Pro League 2022-23 tie in Eindhoven.





'Eager' Joep de Mol proud of Pro League circus in Eindhoven



It is more than an hour before the match against India when Joep de Mol reports to the entrance of the field in his Orange outfit. The defender takes plenty of time to take a picture with the many fans or hand out a doodle, while the Orange Ladies beat China within the white lines. Those teams are barely ready when De Mol enters the field in Eindhoven as the first of the Orange selection with his stick under his arm.

Under the leadership of Alyson Annan, the hard-working midfielder Margot van Geffen was one of the regular core internationals, who did not miss a single major tournament. Under the wings of Paul van Ass, the laws of the past no longer apply. “I do everything I can to show that I belong to the selection. Like I always have.’

USWNT Take 2023 Hockeys5 PAC Gold After Thrilling Challenge Shootout Win Over Uruguay

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The U.S. Women’s National Team went head-to-head with Uruguay in the final of the 2023 Hockey5s Pan American Cups (PAC). A thrilling match from the start, USA held a 3-1 lead at the half, but Uruguay responded with four goals in the second to tie it at 5-5 in regulation. The United Eagles prevailed in the challenge shootout, going 3-1, to claim the Hockey5s PAC gold.

T&T’s senior women’s hockey team came up short in their bid to join the men’s team at the next January’s FIH Hockey5s (five-a-side) World Cup in Muscat, Oman after going under to Paraguay 2-0 in their must-win bronze medal match at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus Turf, Kingston, Jamaica on Saturday.

With his team’s first objective of qualification to the FIH Hockey5s World Cup in Oman, next January achieved, T&T senior men’s hockey team coach Darren Cowie and his charges now have their eyes set on winning the Pan American Hockey5s gold medal on Sunday.
