Gu Bingfeng's hat-trick lifts China to victory over USA



FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23 action continued from Wellington, as China faced off against USA in the first meeting between the two sides. Gu Bingfeng scored her first hat-trick in over 4 years as China registered their first win of the season, in a competitive encounter that nearly went down to the wire until two goals by Bingfeng in the final 3 minutes put the game beyond USA’s reach and sealed the win for the Asian team.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – The No. 16 U.S. Women’s National Team met No. 10 China in their second FIH Hockey Pro League game at the National Hockey Centre in Wellington, New Zealand. Trailing after the first quarter, USA battled and saw many opportunities go unconverted as China went on to win 4-1.

New Zealand's field hockey forward Olivia Merry (born 16 March 1992 at Christchurch) appeared in 258 international hockey matches and scored 221 goals. She made her debut in international hockey in 2012. She appeared in the following major competitions:

Two  Olympic Games: Rio de Janeiro Brazil 2016 and Tokyo Japan 2020 (2021).

Three FIH World Cup: The Hague Netherlands 2014, London England 2018 and Terrassa Spain & Amstelveen Netherlands 2022.

Two FIH Champions Trophy: Mendoza Argentina 2014 and London England 2016.

Three Commonwealth Games: Glassgow Scotland 2014 won the Bronze medal, Gold Coast Australia 2018 won the Gold medal and Birmingham England 2022.

Four Oceania Cup: Stratford New Zealand 2013 won the Silver medal, Stratford New Zealand 2015 won the Silver medal, Sydney Australia 2017 won the Silver medal and Rockhampton Australia 2019 won the Gold medal.

She competed in FIH Hockey World League and FIH Hockey Pro League in 2019, 2020-21 and 2022-23

In the FIH Pro League 2019 she was the Top Scorers with 15 goals in 16 matches and again 11 goals in 10 matches in 2020-21 seasons.

In 2022 Megan Hull and Olivia Merry appointed the co-captains to lead the Black Sticks women team.

Zambia names men's preparation squad of 34 for hockey's return to African Games

Zambia has named a squad of 34 to prepare for the men's hockey tournament at this year's African Games in Accra.





Louise Campbell retires from international hockey



After 48 caps and five goals for Scotland, EuroHockey Championship II gold medallist and Commonwealth Games athlete, Louise Campbell, has retired from international hockey.








Pinoké’s men enjoyed their second European tournament of the season as they earned the Netherlands promotion to the top tier of indoor club hockey for 2024 with a second place finish in Mannheim.

Three teams secured promotion to the 2024 EuroHockey Indoor Club Cup, with East Grinstead leading the way ahead of Ireland’s Railway Union and Scottish team Clydesdale





Railway secure silver at EuroHockey Club Indoor Trophy Tournament



Railway played their final fixture at the EuroHockey Club indoor trophy today knowing that they had already secured a silver medal but that a win or a draw would get them gold as tournament winners.





Railway secures promotion to top European Indoor Division



Railway played Austrian champions WAC in their second top pool match knowing that victory would secure them promotion to the top European indoor division and at least a silver medal.

Results did not go for us yesterday in spite of a 6-3 win against Partille. The Danish side Slagelse defeated the Czech side SK Slavia Prague 4-3 gaining a losing bonus point.





Clydesdale Western finished with bronze and promotion after a win over WAC in Cambrai



Clydesdale Western threw off the disappointment of losing to East Grinstead yesterday evening and put in a gritty performance today to beat the Austrian champions WAC 2-1 and finish in the bronze position.

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh: Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Karnataka, Chhattisgarh Hockey, hockey Madhya Pradesh, and Hockey Bihar strengthened their case of qualifying for the Quarter Finals of the 13th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2023 Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh by winning their encounters today.





EHL Hockey League Week 13 2023 Matchday Review



The England Hockey League, Premier Divisions saw some intense action on matchday 13, with five fixtures taking place. Teams battled it out to secure vital points in the race for the top spot, while others looked to move up the table and avoid the relegation playoffs. The matches were filled with excitement, with several close encounters and unexpected results. While the Vitality Women's Hockey League also saw an exciting weekend of action, with away sides Holcombe and Beeston securing important victories.
