Red Panthers outlast Germany in shoot-out finish

India men blaze past New Zealand, while Germany men topple Belgium



The women’s FIH Pro League kicked off with its opening game of the fourth season in thrilling fashion after Belgium came from behind to tie Germany 3-3 in regular time. Six rounds of shoot-outs ended with a Charlotte Englebert finish and Elodie Picard save to secure the bonus point for the Red Panthers in Mendoza, Argentina.

In what can be described as the classic comeback witnessed in the recent times, India, down 1-3 in the first quarter, pulled up its socks in time to control the damage and then went on a to rampage the rival citadel to romp home a stunning 7-4 victory over New Zealand in the repeat FIH Pro-league encounter today in Bhubaneswar.

The Indian men’s hockey team came from behind to defeat New Zealand 7-4 in its third FIH Pro League 2022-23 match at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on Friday.

The victory also helped India go to the top of the FIH Pro League points table with six points from three matches and a goal difference.

Karthi Selvam, a 21-year-old from Tamil Nadu, was one of the most impressive Indian players in his debut match in the FIH Pro League as the home team handed a 7-4 defeat to New Zealand in the 2022-23 FIH Hockey Pro League at the Kalinga Stadium on Friday.
