FIH Hockey Stars Awards – Moments: Jamie Dwyer, 5-time FIH Player of the Year



Jamie Dwyer is widely regarded as one of the greatest hockey players and for good reason! His list of accolades makes for a lengthy reading, having achieved success at every major international tournament, with a gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, gold medals at the 2010 & 2014 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cups, and gold medals at the 2002, 2006 & 2010 Commonwealth Games!





Balbir Singh Sr scholarship scheme for Punjab players soon

The state government will start the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior scholarship scheme which will offer a monthly stipend to state players claiming first three positions in national championships (only for open nationals). Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer revealed this here today.

Virginia traveled to Evanston, Ill. Sunday, where they were edged 3-2 by the reigning NCAA champions, Northwestern. The Cavaliers (3-2, 0-0 ACC) fought hard against the formidable Wildcats (6-0, 0-0 Big Ten), but were outshot 11-17 and fell short of equalizing the game.





Yale takes down Sacred Heart, Drexel in home opener

On the newly-renovated Johnson Field, the Bulldogs improved to 3–1 with two more wins as the alumni cheered from the sidelines.

In its home opener, the Yale field hockey team (3–1, 0–0 Ivy) continued its early hot streak with a 1–0 victory over Sacred Heart (0–4, 0–0 NEC) on Friday, and extended their winning streak against Drexel (record, 0–0 CAA) on Sunday 2–1.

No. 19 Field Hockey Travels to Michigan State, Hosts Delaware

RU opens Big Ten play Friday on the road, plays at home Sunday



PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 19 Rutgers field hockey has another split road and home weekend on the horizon. The Scarlet Knights open up Big Ten Conference play on Friday with a trip to play at Michigan State at 1 p.m. On Sunday, RU returns home to host Delaware, also at 1 p.m.
