FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar - Rourkela: draw scheduled on 8 September



Lausanne, Switzerland: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is pleased to announce that the draw ceremony to determine the pools of the upcoming FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar - Rourkela will be held on 8 September, at 12 noon IST/ 08h30 CEST, at the Convention Centre, Lok Sewa Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It will be streamed live on Watch.Hockey.





Why states other than Odisha haven't hosted international hockey in a long time

NEW DELHI: When the 2014 hockey Champions Trophy was hosted in the Odisha capital of Bhubaneswar, the Kalinga Stadium was a sight to behold. Beelines for tickets at the box office outside th e stadium and not a place to even stand inside during India matches was something hockey stadia across India hadn't witnessed for a long time, with the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Junior World Cup in Lucknow perhaps being the only exceptions. It was Odisha's handshake with Indian hockey, a long one, that only grew stronger over the ensuing years -- to the point that the state bought Hockey India League franchise Kalinga Lancers and then did the unthinkable by sponsoring the Indian men's and women's teams.





The Final Four revealed for Friday



After four days of the 2022 SA Hockey IPT we have emerged with a final four who will battle it out for glory as the finest provincial team in South African Hockey. It was a day of tight battles sublime goals and a shootout that ultimately decided our final four.





Becky Ward retires from international hockey



After 179 caps for Scotland and 14 years playing in the senior women’s squad, Becky Ward has retired from international hockey.





David Wansbrough nominated for spot on FIH Executive Board



Former Kookaburra David Wansbrough is in contention to be elected to the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Executive Board when the 48th FIH Congress is held on 5 November 2022.

Danielle van Rootselaar and her former teammates at Brown used to watch Maryland field hockey’s games in the locker room after their own games and practices. Watching the Terps together was sometimes optional, but other times mandatory for the Bears.
