First half fire power gives Spain opening win

Spain, co-hosts with The Netherlands for the Women's International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey World Cup, opened the competition with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Canada at the Estadi Olimpic de Terrassa.

It was a dream start for the hosts, as they scored four minutes into the game. The Spanish side added three more goals in the first half to have a commanding lead at half time. They rode the four goal advantage to an eventual 4-1 win over Canada on opening night.\

Wales Women Masters 4 Nation round up
