The Netherlands eye third title in a row at Women's FIH Hockey World Cup

Heading for three titles in a row, The Netherlands are set to get their campaign underway at the Women's International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey World Cup on home soil in Amstelveen.





Netherlands start as firm favourites, India aim for a first

The coveted FIH World Cup will start tomorrow with 16 teams battling it out for the ultimate prize.

The crème de la crème of women's hockey will be in action when the top 16 sides of the world will fight for the coveted FIH World Cup crown with record eight-time winners Netherlands eyeing a hat-trick of titles and India aiming for a first.

For many, this Women’s Hockey World Cup will be a World Cup with a difference. With it being held in two different cities, the tournament provides many teams with challenges not normally met in a major tournament that don’t lie on the hockey field. Logistically this would have had to be an incredible challenge for the organisers of this tournament.





Ready to show the world what they've got



Pool D contains three teams that have not had the benefit of FIH Hockey Pro League action as Australia, Belgium, Japan and South Africa get ready to take to the field in Terrassa.

Compared to the build-up of our home tournament in 2018, the 2022 Women’s World Cup has come round quite quickly. With the Olympics being delayed a year, everything has seemed closer together, but the excitement levels still couldn’t be greater as we headed out to the Netherlands on Monday.





Giddens & Hess to Represent at FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup Spain & Netherlands 2022



COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup Spain and Netherlands 2022 will start tomorrow, and although USA will not be there competing, there are two individuals of USA’s officiating staff representing the red, white and blue. Maggie Giddens (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was appointed as an umpire and Lurah Hess (Marion, Ind.) will be a technical official.

Narrow defeat for Scotland to Wales and an Ireland victory in men’s 4-Nations day two

Scotland lost a very close game 2-1 to Wales in the men’s 4-Nations at Uddingston. The Blue Sticks have won one game from two and face Ireland on Saturday at 3pm.





James Carson's brace gives Wales 2-1 win over Scotland

Wales' men beat hosts Scotland 2-1 in the second game of the Four-Nations Test series.

James Carson scored twice as Wales bounced back following a 4-1 defeat to Ireland in their opening gamme the previous day.

GLASGOW, Scotland – In their second game of the 4-Nations Tournament taking place at the Uddingston Cricket and Hockey Club in Glasgow, Scotland, the No. 22 U.S. Men’s National Team went up against No. 14 Ireland. A tough battle, USA trailed at the half and saw the Green Machine capitalize on two more chances to defeat the red, white and blue, 3-0.





Franchise-based hockey league later this year
