Hockeyroos maintain unbeaten Trans-Tasman run



A first international goal from Shanea Tonkin has kept the Hockeyroos undefeated in the Trans-Tasman Series as they drew 1-1 with New Zealand in the penultimate match in Auckland.

Victory over Australia’s Hockeyroos again proved elusive for the Black Sticks women as a late penalty corner attempt was deflected away, right on fulltime in Auckland on Saturday.

Rupinder Pal Singh ruled out of Men's Asia Cup due to injury

Birendra Lakra will replace Rupinder as India's captain, while experienced forward SV Sunil will be the vice-captain of the team.

Ace drag-flicker Rupinder Pal Singh has been ruled out of the Men's Asia Cup, starting May 23 in Jakarta, Indonesia, due to an injury.





Men’s 4-Nations Euros test event to be held at Uddingston



A men’s 4-Nations tournament featuring Scotland; Ireland; Wales and USA will be held at Uddingston on 29 June – 3 July as a test event ahead of the men’s EuroHockey qualifiers, which will also be held at Uddingston in August.





Making Hockey Safe Again: Injuries raise question mark over penalty corner

The future of one of hockey’s most integral elements is being reconsidered, at least in its current avatar. The reason? Rising risk of injuries and a diminishing success rate.

FOR DECADES, penalty corners have showcased thrilling action sequences on a hockey field — from the cannonball-like shots hurled by drag-flickers and “suicide runs” from defenders to block them to the goalkeepers diving and lunging to keep the ball out.
