Indian men win the battle of Penalty Corners, as Dutch put 10 past USA



India and England played out another thriller as a back and forth match saw 7 goals, all from penalty corners, 4-3 in favour of India. England took an early lead in the match as they had done last night. But India went back level through Manpreet and never trailed again. India’s Harmanpreet Singh scored a hat-trick notching his 100th goal for India and while England twice managed to reduce the deficit to 1 goal, they could not find a leveller and India took all 3 points.

India and the Netherlands strengthened their positions at the top of the men’s and women’s International Hockey Federation (FIH) Pro League standings with their second victories in as many days.

AMSTELVEEN, Netherlands – The No. 15 U.S. Women’s National Team was met with another tough defensive challenge against world No. 1 The Netherlands in their second FIH Hockey Pro League match. Three first half penalty corner goals and another seven-goal performance in the second led to the Oranje having a dominant scoring performance on their way to a 10-0 win.





Harmanpreet Singh stars as India sink England

Indian drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh scored his 100th goal in the match as India consolidated their position on top of the points table with a 4-3 win.

Hat-trick hero Harmanpreet Singh dominated the battle of the set-piece in the FIH Pro League match at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. His triple strike helped India beat England 4-3 in the second match of the doubleheader after the home side took a bonus point after a draw in the first on Saturday.

India was at the doorstep of victory until Sam Ward played a spoiler with a final-minute goal in the first leg tie on Saturday. The Blueshirts was determined to avoid last-minute hiccups on Sunday as they played a disciplined final quarter and effectively ran down the clock to snuff the challenge of England with a 4-3 win in the Pro League at Bhubaneshwar.

India, Argentina take charge in pool play, Uruguay earn historic victory while Malaysia, Wales draw



Potchefstroom, South Africa — It was a 3-3 deadlock for Malaysia and Wales in Pool D play on Day 3 at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup hosted in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Late yellow cards to Malaysia allowed Wales to climb back from a 3-1 deficit to tie the game. Despite several chances for Germany, India were able to hold on to earn a 2-1 victory and move to the top of Pool D. Uruguay earned the country’s first-ever victory at a Junior World Cup with a late penalty corner goal over Austria in Pool C. Argentina controlled Korea to cruise to the top of Pool C after a 2-0 win.
