Rohidas, Mandeep reflect on new leadership roles

Amit Rohidas and Mandeep Singh were given leadership roles in the Indian men’s national squad. Rohidas was named captain and Mandeep his deputy for the FIH Pro League clash against Argentina at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The duo addressed a virtual media conference on Friday where they expressed joy and readiness on assuming their new positions.

Giles Bonnet appointed South African Hockey Head Coach



South African Hockey today have announced the appointment of Giles Bonnet through the FIH Hockey World Cup and the Paris Olympic Games in 2024. The role sees Bonnet return to a role he held from 2010-2014 where he led the team into the top 10 in the world rankings as well as to a competitive adventure in the London Olympic games.

After twelve seasons, international Margot van Geffen leaves Den Bosch for a new challenge. The 32-year-old hard-core midfielder makes the switch to HGC. Lausanne, Switzerland: Meeting today virtually for the second time of the year, the Executive Board (EB) of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) received reports on the preparation status of the upcoming FIH events, including the next one, namely the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup South Africa 2021, which will start on 1 April at the North-West University of Potchefstroom, the venue which last month hosted 14 FIH Hockey Pro League matches.





World hockey to launch penalty corner project in bid ‘to keep spectacle and curb dangers’

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is set to investigate the dangers of the penalty corner routine while maintaining the “excitement and spectacle” of the set piece, the world body admitting that trial rules could be implemented to enhance safety.
