South Africa and Ghana reach women’s Africa Cup of Nations hockey final

South Africa and hosts Ghana reached the women’s Africa Cup of Nations hockey final in Accra, after victories in their semi-finals today.





South Africa secure final spot with Kenya victory

South Africa and Kenya met in Ghana for a semi-final battle that would decide one of the two places in the 2022 African Hockey Cup of Nations final. The two sides last met in Stellenbosch in 2019 at the African Hockey Road to Tokyo, where the South Africans won 3-0. The South Africans had added support from South African High Commissioner to Ghana Her Excellency Grace Jeanet Mason, who greeted teams at the Stadium before the match got underway. Her Excellency was joined by SA Hockey President and Vice-President Deon Morgan and Lwandile Simelane respectively.

Long Island University duo, Kaitlyn Olton and Felicia “Chucky” King scored a second-half goal each as T&T Calypso Stickwomen dominated Peru 2-0 in their second Group B match of the Pan American Cup at the Prince of Wales Country Club, La Reina, Santiago, Chile on Friday.

SANTIAGO, Chile – In their second pool game of the 2022 Pan American Cup, taking place at the Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile, the No. 15 U.S. Women’s National Team faced a tough No. 13 Canada. Scoreless through the first three quarters, Canada scored first but USA tallied three unanswered to claim the 3-1 victory.
