Australia and Netherlands get back to winning ways on Day 2 of the FIH Hockey Junior Women’s World Cup 2023



Lausanne, Switzerland: Day 2 of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup Chile 2023 was an eventful one with Netherlands and Australia getting their first wins of the tournament. India and Germany played out a thriller with the Germans piping India by a narrow 4-3 margin.

SANTIAGO, Chile – In their first match of the 2023 FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup, the No. 5 U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team opened up pool play with a battle against No. 15 Japan. Off two back-to-back goals from Charly Bruder (Malvern, Pa.) in the second quarter, the Junior Eagles secured a 2-1 victory.





Belgium girls created a record

Belgium women's junior hockey team defeated Germany women's hockey team by 6-0 in the tenth FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup 2023 in Santiago, Chile.

For the Belgium team two players scored  hat tricks (Astrid Bonami 3 goals and Louise Dewaet 3 goals) in such a lowest team score 6-0.

This is perhaps the lowest team score to include two hat tricks in the women's junior hockey events, see details below:

Indian hockey team goes down 3-4 against Germany

The Indian junior women's hockey team went down in thriller against Germany in their second game of World Cup.



The Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team put up a solid show in their second game of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2023 but the runners-up of the last edition of the elite tournament, Germany, came from behind to register a 4-3 victory in a thrilling match played in Santiago, Chile, on Friday.





Netherlands shows title credentials in defeating South Africa



Netherlands came into the tournament with a high degree of favour in the corner. They came into this game looking slightly less perfect as they were held to a 2-2 draw in their opening game against Australia. For South Africa it was frustration in opening game as large spells of good had no end product and the teams ultimately started with a 1-0 defeat to Chile. It was going to be an incredibly tough for the African champions taking on a country that had made every finals since 2009.





Glen Hills hockey player nets World Cup dream

Tatum Kroutz is hoping to shine for the National U21 Team at the Junior Women’s World Cup starting this month.


Tatum Kroutz keeps the ball away from KZN Raiders player Charne Maddocks at the Hockey Inter-Provincial Tournament (IPT) earlier this year. Tatum is a member of the SA U21 team travelling to Chile for the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup.

The young boy had patiently awaited the conclusion of the marathon final between Punjab and Haryana, where the former emerged victorious with a 9-8 win on penalties in the recent Hockey India 13th Senior National Men’s Championship held in Chennai. Raghuveer sought Harmanpreet’s autograph and presented him with a thoughtful gift after the match.





SAIL Hockey Academy strikes Gold in 1st Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Men Academy Championship 2023 – (Zone B)



Kovilpatti: The final day of the 1st Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Men Academy Championship 2023 – (Zone B) witnessed SAIL Hockey Academy win in both the Junior and Sub Junior categories after having defeated Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre and Smart Hockey Academy, Rapiur in their respective finals. Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy finished third in the Sub Junior Category while Hubli Hockey Academy finished third in the Junior Category.
