Namibian men make history in Malaysia

Namibia’s indoor hockey men’s side made history on Saturday when they beat South Africa 3-2 on penalties to win the Sultan Nazrin Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina earned another game on its home turf, beating Harvard 4-2 Sunday afternoon to book a spot in the NCAA field hockey semifinals, to be played at Carolina's Karen Shelton Stadium on Friday.

The No. 1 UNC field hockey team (16-3, 5-1 ACC) defeated No. 9 Harvard (16-4, 7-0 Ivy), 4-2, to advance to the NCAA Field Hockey Final Four for the second consecutive season.





No. 9 Field Hockey Drops Close Contest to No. 1 UNC in the Elite EIght



CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 9 field hockey fell to No. 1 UNC on Sunday afternoon at Karen Shelton Stadium. The Crimson battled the host Tar Heels and managed to keep fighting back throughout the game but couldn't overcome two goals in the second half from UNC. Harvard finishes its season with an Ivy Title, Ivy Tournament Championship, and a trip to the Elite Eight.

North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Set for Field Hockey Semifinals



CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – When the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship heads to the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 12, the Atlantic Coast Conference will be well represented, as three ACC programs – No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Duke, and Virginia – all punched their tickets to Karen Shelton Stadium at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on Sunday afternoon.

Virginia Field Hockey Dominates Maryland 4-0, Advances to NCAA Semifinals

The Cavaliers shut out the Terrapins on their home turf to advance to the NCAA Semifinals for the first time since 2019

Since defeating Maryland in overtime to advance to the semifinals in 2019, the Virginia field hockey team has had some rather bad fortune against the Terrapins, suffering four-consecutive losses in the series. That losing streak included an overtime regular season loss in 2021, a 2-1 loss in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, a 2-0 loss at Maryland in the regular season in 2022, and then a 2-1 loss at home to the Terps earlier this season.

Ulster took the lead in this game with a goal from open play scored by Alyssa Somerville in the 21st minute. They increased their lead in the 32nd minute when Evie Girvan converted a penalty corner. Alyssa Somerville got her second goal of the game from open play in the 45th minute to make the score Leinster 0 Ulster 3.
