Malaysia thrash Australia 8-2 in indoor hockey

KUALA LUMPUR: In a rare feat, the national men's indoor squad whipped Australia 8-2 in their opening Sultan Nazrin Shah Cup match at the Indera Mulia Stadium in Ipoh today.

The South African Indoor Hockey Men began their road to the 2025 Indoor Hockey World Cup at the inaugural Sultan Nazrin Shah Cup in Malaysia on Monday. Missing a few players from the World Cup squad including the Cassiem brothers and Ryan Julius, the South Africans gave debuts to Nicholas White, Phemelo Ramatlotlo and Luke Lange.

Germany won men's hockey (under 21) eleventh edition of Sultan of Johor Cup 2023 defeated Australia by 0 - 0 (Penalty shootout 3 - 1 ) in the final of the event, held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
India defeated Pakistan by 3 - 3 (Penalty shootout 6 - 5) to win the bronze medal.
