Hockey at Pan American Games 2023: Race for Olympic Qualification set to begin in Santiago



From 25 October to 4 November, Hockey will be played at the Pan American Games 2023 in Chile, with the stakes going beyond the gold, silver and bronze medals, as the winners will join France (men and women), Australia (men and women), Netherlands (men and women), India (men) and China (women) in securing direct qualification to the Olympic Games Paris 2024.





SA Hockey Women named for African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 Qualifier



South African Hockey has today announced the SA Women’s Hockey Team to participate in the African Hockey Road to Paris 2024 Qualifier taking place in just under two weeks in Pretoria.

KOCHI: No other player has seen the highs and lows of Indian hockey like PR Sreejesh in the last decade and a half. The save he made of Lukas Windfeder's drag flick during the game's dying moments against Germany to help India bag a historic bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics last year will probably be the most significant momennt of that storied career. Having booked a direct ticket to the next Olympics by bagging the Asian Games gold medal in Hangzhou, the Indian goalkeeper is keen to change the colour of the medal they won in Tokyo in the next edition in Paris but feels it won't be easy.

Michelle and Carissa Vittese stumbled upon the sport of field hockey by chance. They spent grade school playing roller hockey with their dad and competed mostly against boys. Once Michelle Vittese tried field hockey in fifth grade gym class, her gym teacher knew she was meant for the sport, and Carissa Vittese quickly followed suit.

Gwalior: The seventh day of the 1st Hockey India Junior and Sub Junior Women Academy Championship 2023 – (Zone A), saw Ghumanhera Riser’s Academy and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy winning their respective matches in the Sub Junior Women’s category while Khalsa Hockey Academy (Amritsar) and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy emerged victorious in their respective games in the Junior Women’s category.
