Movements in world rankings following resumption of FIH Hockey Pro League



Lausanne, Switzerland: The return of the FIH Hockey Pro League, after a two month hiatus, has produced great hockey action and a string of upsets, leading to major shake-ups in the world rankings.

Hardik Singh and Savita win the Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year 2022

The annual awards were held in New Delhi to honour Hockey stars and legends



New Delh: The much-awaited Hockey India 5th Annual Awards 2022 took place in the capital city on Friday which saw the National Federation celebrate India's best hockey stars, officials and former greats of the sport.

The 24-year-old Hardik beat his illustrious senior players like Manpreet Singh and Harmanpreet Singh to win the coveted award for 2022 named after hockey legend Balbir Singh senior at the fifth Hockey India Annual Awards.

New Delhi: Midfielder Hardik Singh and goalkeeper Savita Punia were on Friday conferred with the men’s and women’s Indian ‘Hockey Player of the Year’ awards at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.





I was rested not dropped: Mandeep Singh on his omission from Indian hockey team for FIH Pro League

Mandeep was among the eight players who were left out of the FIH Pro League team after India made a shock pre-quarterfinals exit from the World Cup in January.

Striker Mandeep Singh on Friday claimed that he was rested and not dropped from India’s FIH Pro League team which defeated world champions Germany and Australia twice each.

Striker Akashdeep Singh said he had no idea why he was dropped from the Indian hockey team for FIH Pro League in Rourkela.

Striker Akashdeep Singh, who was left out from the Indian men's hockey team for FIH Pro League mini tournament against Germany and Australia in Rourkela said that he does not know the reason why he was not in the current squad.
