India register shoot-out win over Australia to remain unbeaten in Rourkela



Final day of action from the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela produced a highly competitive clash between India and Australia as the two teams played out a 2-2 draw in regulation time to take one point apiece. India then edged Australia in the sudden deaths of the shoot-outs by a 4-3 margin to claim the bonus point and take 11 out of the 12 points available at home. India also extended their lead at the top of the Pro League table, moving up to 19 points from 8 games.

Rourkela: After a hat-trick of wins, the Indian Men's Hockey Team remained unbeaten as they put up a resilient performance against Australia in the last home game in the FIH Hockey Pro League here at the world's largest-seated Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Odisha. While Vivek Sagar Prasad (2') and Sukhjeet Singh (47') scored in regulation time, Harmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh and Dilpreet Singh scored in the shootout to ensure a 2-2 (4-3 SO) win ensuring the home team ended their campaign at home in style.





Kookaburras edged out by India in shootout



The Kookaburras have ended their FIH Pro League ‘mini tournament’ in Rourkela with a 4-3 shootout loss to host nation India after scores were locked 2-2 at the end of full time.

Despite missing two early shots in the shootout, the host came back to take the game into sudden death courtesy another impressive performance by P.R. Sreejesh who made three saves.

Fort Rourkela remained unconquered as India won 4-3 against Australia on shootouts after the teams were tied 2-2 in regulation time in the final Pro League match of the mini-series here on Wednesday.

India concluded their home leg of the FIH Pro League 2022-23 hockey season on a high with a 4-3 victory over Australia in the shootout after regulation time ended at 2-2 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Wednesday.





India too good at home

The match played between India and Australia ended in a tame draw with the Full Time score 2-2, finally the match was decided in the penalty shootout session in the favour of India by the margin of 4 goals to 3 in FIH Hockey Pro League (Men) at Rourkela in the current season 2022-23.

India won all the four matches on home soil in the FIH Hockey Pro League (Men) Mini Tournament at  Munda Birsa International Stadium Rourkela.

South African sides qualify for the FIH Junior World Cup



Both the South African U21 Men and Women celebrated qualification to the FIH Hockey Junior World Cups today in Egypt by completing a 100% group stage. In the process both teams qualified for the Junior African Cup final which takes place on Thursday afternoon.
