United Eagles earn bonus point against Hockeyroos while Red Sticks win thriller against Kookaburras



Action continued from Hobart in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2022/23 as Hockeyroos took on USA in the women’s competition, followed by the Kookaburras facing Spain in the rematch of the men’s world cup quarterfinals. After a goalless draw in regulation time, USA were inspired by the heroics of Kelsey Bing and won the bonus point in the shoot-outs. In the men’s match, Spain took the lead in the first quarter and Australia were never able to draw level despite scoring twice in the game as the Red Sticks won the game 4-2.

HOBART, Australia – Heading into today’s match at the Tasmania Hockey Centre in Hobart, Australia, the No. 16 U.S. Women’s National Team knew they would be up for a challenge when they faced hosts No. 3 Hockeyroos in the FIH Hockey Pro League. After chances for both sides went unscored during regulation, the match went into a shootout to decide the winner. The United Eagles earned the extra point after finishing 3-1 following five rounds and again behind a great shootout performance from USA goalkeeper Kelsey Bing (Houston, Texas).





USA snatch bonus point in shootout win over Hockeyroos



An incredible goalkeeping display from USA goalkeeper Kelsey Bing has guided the stars and stripes to a 3-1 shootout victory over the Hockeyroos in the FIH Pro League at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre.





Spain prevail over Kookaburras in FIH Pro League



It was a case of full ‘Marcs’ as a brace to Marc Reyne and a late winner to Marc Miralles secured Spain a 4-2 defeat of the Kookaburras in their FIH Pro League match in Hobart.





Field Hockey Legend: Jeremy Hayward

Australian top class field hockey defender Jeremy Thomas Hayward was born in Darwin on 3 March 1993. He made his debut in senior outdoor international hockey in Azlan Shah Cup at Ipoh Malaysia in 2014.

Jeremy Hayward appeared in all major events as Olympic Games he was selected for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games but he didn't play any match, then he appeared in Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 (2021) won silver medal.

He participated in three FIH Hockey World Cup Tournaments first at The Hague in 2014 won gold medal, next at Bhubaneswar in 2018 won bronze medal and finally at Bhubaneswar and Rourkela in 2023 returned without a medal.

He participated in three FIH Champions Trophy events at Bhubaneswar in 2014 won bronze medal, at London in 2016 won gold medal and at Breda in 2018 again won the gold medal.

He appeared in FIH Hockey Series in 2018 won silver medal.

He participated in Three FIH Hockey World League seasons (2014-2017) won two gold medals and one bronze medal. He appeared in three FIH Hockey Pro League seasons (2019-2022/23) won one gold and one silver medal and the current season is in the progress.

Jeremy Hayward appeared in two Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast Australia in 2018 won gold medal and at Birmingham England again won the gold medal.

In the Oceania Cup Tournaments, he appeared twice first at Sydney Australia 2017 and at Rockhampton Australia 2019 won gold medals in both events.

Jeremy Hayward appeared four times in Azlan Shah Cup event at Ipoh Malaysia won two gold medals and two silver medals.

Jeremy Hayward played two invitational tournaments won two gold medals.

Jeremy Hayward played 21 hockey Test Match Series. Overall Jeremy Hayward played 202 senior outdoor international hockey matches and scored 102 goals.

Jeremy Hayward appeared in 23 events and won 22 medals (14 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze). Once he returned medalless in the FIH Hockey World Cup at Bhubaneswar and Rourkela India in 2023.

Three USA Teams to Travel North for 2023 CanAm Indoor Series



TORONTO, Canada – For the second year in a row, USA Field Hockey and Canada Field Hockey’s Indoor Programs will be participating in the now annual CanAm Indoor Series. This year taking place March 18 and 19 at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada, the series will feature squads from the Junior U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team, Junior U.S. Women’s National Indoor Team and Senior U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team.

Hockey Ireland to receive enhanced funding support over next two years following Sport Ireland funding announcement



Sport Ireland today announced an improved funding model for all Irish Olympic sports, including Hockey, as part of the Government’s National Sports Policy 2018-2027. The additional €4m of investment provided for 2023 will be directed to specific initiatives within high performance sport, including hockey.
