Hockeyroos and Kookaburras primed for Hobart Pro League series



‘Hockey at its best’ returns to Hobart for the first time since 2019 as the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras host Argentina in the opening double header of the FIH Pro League ‘mini tournament’ tonight at the Tasmanian Hockey Centre.

New Delhi: Hockey India on Monday named the 20-member Indian Men's Hockey Team who will take on World Champions Germany and World No. 4 Australia in the upcoming FIH Hockey Pro League matches in Rourkela.

Hockey India on Monday named the 20-member Indian Men’s Hockey Team which will take on World Champion Germany and World No. 4 Australia in the upcoming FIH Hockey Pro League matches in Rourkela.





Dilpreet and Gurjant return while David John will be interim coach for the Rourkela Mini Tournament



The two key players of Tokyo Olympics, who missed out the recent World Cup – Dilpreet Singh and Gurjant Singh – return for the Rourkela Mini Tournament. David John, former High Performance Director and BJ Kariappa, former Junior India coach will be interim coaches.

Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh): Hockey Madhya Pradesh redeemed themselves from a Quarterfinal loss in the previous edition to win the prestigious 13th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2023 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. They won the Title after defeating Hockey Maharashtra 5-1 in the final on Sunday.





Day 2 Results: 3rd Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2023 Bengaluru, Karnataka



Bangalore, 27th February 2023: The second day of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship 2023 Bengaluru, Karnataka proved to be a fruitful day as Railway Sports Promotion Board, Air India Sports Promotion Board, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board and All India Police Sports Control Board recorded victories in their respective matches and added 3 points ahead of their name in the points table.





EHL Hockey League Week 14/15 2023 Matchday Review



It was an exciting weekend of hockey in the England Hockey League, with a double-header on both Saturday and Sunday. In the Men's Hockey League, Old Georgians secured top spot in the regular season on Saturday, while Surbiton secured their place at the top of the Vitality Women's Hockey League on Sunday. With both leagues approaching the end of the regular season, teams are working hard to secure their position on the table and qualify for the playoffs. The high level of competition and skill on display in these matches was a testament to the quality of hockey in the England Hockey League.





Pembroke coming into form at right time



Pembroke picked up a hugely impressive 3-0 win over Catholic Institute to give their pursuit of the Irish EY Hockey League regular season title a big boost.

In the women’s cup Edinburgh University third string have done extremely well to make it to the quarter-final stages but were no match for Premiership leaders Watsonians and went down 8-0. For Watsonians there were two goals each for Katie Stott and Milly Berndes-Cade while the others came from Ailsa Small, Sarah Robertson, Beth Dodds and finally Katherine Holdgate.

Renowned hockey coach Merzban Patel won the Sportstar Aces Award 2023 for the Best Grassroots Coach at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai on Monday.





Best players on show in annual Schoolgirls Hockey Challenge


TITLE HOLDERS: The SPAR Eastern Cape Schoolgirls Hockey Challenge will get under way in Graaff-Reinet on Sunday, with the first regional event being hosted by Union High. There is a slight change this year with the provincial finals being scrapped in favour of raising the profile of the five regional tournaments to be played during March and May. The best players in the province will be in action in the five regional tournaments of the annual SPAR Eastern Cape Schoolgirls Hockey Challenge, which starts this weekend and culminates in May.
