Namibia beat USA in warm-up match

NAMIBIA's national men's hockey team stepped up their preparations for the Indoor Hockey World Cup, with an official 4-1 victory against the United States in a warmup match on Monday.

Bengaluru: Hockey India on Tuesday announced the Indian Junior Women's Hockey Team squad for the tour of South Africa set to begin from February 14 onwards. The Indian team led by Preeti as Captain and Rutaja Dadaso Pisal as Vice-Captain will play a series of matches on the tour between 17th and 25th February against South Africa Junior Women's Hockey Team and South Africa A Team.

NEW DELHI: It didn't take much time for Hockey India(HI) to react to the team's dismal show at the Men's Hockey World Cup. President Dilip Tirkey and other HI officials met the team and the coaching staff led by Graham Reid after they arrived from Rourkela having finished joint 9th in the tournament. And the day after Germany were crowned the champions in Bhubaneswar, chief coach Reid, analytical coach Greg Clark and scientific advisor Mitchell David Pemberton tendered their resignations.

LAHORE: Former Pakistan team manager Khawaja Junaid was banned for life from taking part in hockey activities on Tuesday after an inquiry committee held him responsible for the national side’s unceremonious ouster from last year’s Asia Cup following an eight-month investigation.
