Egypt's Seif Ahmed has been appointed as the Acting President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) following the resignation of India's Narinder Batra on Monday (July 18), it has been announced.

Claiming that they feel ‘ignored’ and ‘not listened to’, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) expressed concerns over Hockey India’s ‘ability’ to host the World Cup in January next year, after the court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) failed to respond to multiple letters they sent in the last few weeks.

The world hockey body (FIH) on Wednesday sought a “detailed timeline” from the court-appointed CoA on the adoption of the new constitution and holding of fresh elections of Hockey India to ensure that next year’s men’s World Cup stays in India.
