Netherlands men sign off great season with win

Pia Maertens leads Germany to victory over China; Belgium women finish fourth in league after second win over USA



And so we come to the end of the third season of FIH Hockey Pro League action. The two leagues – men's and women's – began back in October in Belgium and ended eight months later with Argentina women and Netherlands men being crowned champions.

DEN BOSCH, Netherlands – In their final FIH Hockey Pro League game of the third season, the No. 15 U.S. Women’s National Team met No. 6 Belgium at the HC’s-Hertogenbosch in The Netherlands. Scoreless after the first quarter, the Red Panthers scored in each of the resuming frames for the 3-0 victory.

Uniphar Under-23 Five Nations Championship – day six round-up



The Netherlands took the laurels from the Uniphar Under-23 Five Nations tournament in Belfield with an excellent 4-1 win in Sunday’s final against India in front of a large crowd.

DUBLIN, Ireland - The U.S. U-21 Women's National Team claimed bronze at the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament that took place this past week. From June 19 to 26 at The Hockey Centre in Dublin, Ireland, USA went up against some high quality opponents when they faced 2021 FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup champions, The Netherlands; Ukraine, India and Ireland.

ROURKELA: Almost four months after 28-year-old Anand Toppo was found dead in a flat in Bhubaneswar under mysterious circumstances, his parents on Sunday pointed fingers at his friend hockey Olympian Birendra Lakra for the incident. Addressing mediapersons, Anand’s father Bandhan Toppo, mother Ashrita and his two uncles accused Bhubaneswar police of not acting and demanded CBI investigation into the matter.
