A class act from Belgium men and women against South Africa men and China women

Belgium men continued their winning run as the FIH Hockey Pro league moves into the latter stages. It was business as usual for Tom Boon as he scored another three goals as Belgium put on a masterclass in game management against South Africa. Against China, the Belgium women put on a passing masterclass with two of their three goals splitting the normally solid China defence.

Belgium's men continued their winning streak in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Pro League as they annihilated South Africa while the country's women put on a masterclass of their own with victory over China.

Belgium triumph over South Africa

South Africa took on the Olympic Champions Belgium in their penultimate FIH Pro League fixture in Antwerp. The South Africans welcomed back Nic Spooner and Bili Ntuli, fresh from a third-place finish with their Bundesliga side Harvestehuder, while Belgium welcomed back five players who had a combined 750 caps! The South Africans knew it would be a tough challenge facing the quality of the Tokyo Champions.

Indian men's and women's hockey teams depart for FIH Pro League matches against Belgium

Both the Indian teams will take on hosts Belgium in double-headers on June 11 and 12.

The Indian men's and women's hockey teams on Wednesday left for Brussels ahead of the upcoming FIH Hockey Pro League scheduled to be held on June 11 and 12.

Indian Women Hope to Pass Belgium Test

The Indian women’s hockey team have been off the international hockey action radar for more than two months since their last Pro League tie against the Netherlands on April 9. However, the Blueskirts would be pumped up by their best-ever jump in FIH world rankings (to number six) something that would make the girls feel that they belong to the elite league of women hockey powerhouses. It is this confidence that the Savita Punia-captained Indian side would look to build on and give a good account of themselves in the Pro League games against Belgium. Perched in third spot in the points table behind tabletoppers Argentina and Netherlands, the Indian girls would fancy their chances against world number 8 Belgium despite playing in their own backyard.
