Debut delight for India women

China's first Hockey Pro League match for more than two years ended in defeat as they were thrashed by India in the women's competition in Oman.

India made a winning start at the Women’s FIH Pro League 2021-22 with a 7-1 triumph over China at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman on Monday.





Sushila Chanu scores brace as India drub China 7-1 on debut

Chanu (47th, 52nd minutes) converted two penalty strokes while Navneet Kaur (5th), Neha (12), Vandana Katariya (40th), Sharmila Devi (48th) and Gurjit Kaur (50th) netted one each to hand India a convincing win.


With the win, the Indian women's hockey team moved to the third position in the FIH Pro League points table, with three points and a goal difference of plus six. Twitter @TheHockeyIndia

Muscat: Sushila Chanu scored a brace as the Indian women's hockey team made a grand debut at the FIH Pro League, hammering China 7-1 in the first game of the two-leg tie in Muscat on Monday.

KOCHI: The trophy cabinet in PR Sreejesh's household in Pallikara on the outskirts of Kochi is expanding day by day. Soon after his stupendous performance in Indian hockey team's bronze medal winning finish at the Tokyo Olympics last year, awards and recognition, including the Khel Ratna, have been pouring in for the Indian hockey custodian.





New Coaching Trio for Vantage Black Sticks Women



Hockey New Zealand (HNZ) is delighted to announce the appointment of three new assistant coaches to the Vantage Black Sticks Women’s (VBSW) programme. Olympian Shea McAleese, former NZ U18s Head Coach Verity Sharland, and current HNZ Athlete Pathway Manager Bryce Collins, have all agreed to join Graham Shaw in the back room with a World Cup and Commonwealth Games on the horizon.

High School of Glasgow and Strathallan win Scottish U18 Indoor Finals



The U18 National Indoor Cup Finals provided a thrilling conclusion to this season’s youth indoor competitions. The Finals, held at Bells Sports Centre in Perth on Saturday 29 January, brought together many of the best young players in the country.
