SA Women’s Hockey Team make perfect start against Canada
The SA Women’s Hockey Team and the Canada Women’s Hockey Team kicked off their five match test series in front of a wonderful crowd at HS Menlopark in Pretoria. It was the first international match of 2026 for the South Africans and the atmosphere reflected the excitement of a new season and a new journey.

Chennai: JSW Soorma Hockey Club registered a thrilling 3-1 shootout victory against Hyderabad Toofans after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the Men’s Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2025-26 at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, Chennai on Friday. Captain Harmanpreet Singh (20') scored the goal for JSW Soorma Hockey Club and Amandeep Lakra (46') was the goalscorer for Hyderabad Toofans.

Tamil Nadu Dragons goalkeeper Princedeep Singh’s save against Roman Duvekot swung the tie-breaks 5-4 in his side’s favour against SG Pipers at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Friday.

The Hockey India League’s Chennai leg was drawn to a close by a frantic, end-to-end contest that saw Tamil Nadu Dragons and SG Pipers match each other hit-for-hit and end up in a 4-4 deadlock at the end of regulation time. 
Soorma Hockey Club claims first points in shootout win over Hyderabad Toofans
Nicolas Della Torre’s final attempt to seal the game struck the post but a timely referral got Soorma a penalty stroke. Harmanpreet Singh, who had scored the first, slotted the stroke into the left past Bikramjit Singh to seal the two points.
