Curtain Falls on Pro League Action in Ireland and Argentina



The Irish leg of the FIH Hockey Pro League came to a close with tightly contested battles. England and Belgium renewed their rivalry in the men’s competition, while England’s women edged hosts Ireland in a hard-fought encounter played in front of a passionate home crowd.

Sunday, December 14 – Dublin: The FIH Hockey Pro League drew to a close today, bringing an end to an exceptional six days of International hockey on home soil.

England finished their four match leg of the FIH Pro League in Dublin with a 3-2 defeat by Belgium.

Dublin: The Ireland Women’s Hockey Team came up short against England despite another huge effort from the team, and support from the sidelines. England led early on, before adding a second in the final quarter. Caoimhe Perdue pulled a goal back from a penalty corner. Ireland pushed until the final whistle but couldn’t find a way to breach the English defence.

Ireland fell to a 2-1 defeat by England in their final FIH Pro League game of the first section of matches.

Pakistan's hockey team suffered a fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing FIH Pro Hockey League in Santiago, Argentina, as they were beaten 5-1 by the host nation.

Nkosi Cup 2025 | Day Three



Day Three of the Nkosi Cup 2025 delivered decisive moments, dramatic finishes and statement performances as the group stages reached their conclusion. A youthful Namibian women’s indoor hockey team made a strong start to the Nkosi Cup tournament in Cape Town by winning their opening two matches over the weekend.

The Netherlands sealed their third consecutive world title at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup, triumphing in Santiago, Chile after defeating Argentina in the final, to reaffirm their historical dominance in the category. The Dutch side reached a record sixth world title and completed a third consecutive crown following their triumphs in 2022, 2023 and now 2025. Namibia 24th at Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup

Namibia finished 24th at the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile on Saturday after losing their final play-off match 2-1 to Zimbabwe.

Grassroots NGOS Reward The Hockey Team Of St. Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School

The Francis and Fidelia Ibhawoh Foundation and CSED (Community Sports and Educational Development) Initiative recently rewarded the hockey players of St. Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School Benin City with cash gifts. The hockey team of the school won a silver medal for Edo State during the National Youth Games that was held in Asaba in July 2025.
