Norway ready for first men’s indoor championship hosting

Men’s EuroHockey Indoor Championship II-B (Oslo, Norway) – January 9 to 11, 2026



Norway will host a men’s EuroHockey Indoor Championship competition for the first time as II-B comes to the Klemetsrudhallen this weekend.

Chennai: Vedanta Kalinga Lancers registered their second win on the trot, clinching a narrow 2-1 victory against Shrachi Bengal Tigers in the Men’s Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2025-26 at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, Egmore on Thursday. Alexander Hendrickx (52’) and Boby Singh Dhami (57’) scored for the winners, while Affan Yousuf (56’) netted for the Tigers. 



Late goals help Kalinga Lancers edge past Bengal Tigers

After umpteen wastes at both ends, Lancers took the three points courtesy of strikes from Alexander Hendrickx and Boby Singh Dhami.

A final-quarter flurry of goals provided a contrasting end to a match strewn with misses as Kalinga Lancers defeated Bengal Tigers 2-1 in the Hockey India League at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai on Thursday.



Ranchi Royals overpower SG Pipers 5-2 to finish third in the Women's Hero Hockey India League

Lucina von der Heyde and Hannah Cotter netted a brace each to ensure victory for the hosts



Ranchi: Ranchi Royals produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat SG Pipers 5-2 in their last Women’s Hero Hockey India League 2025-26 encounter, with a clinical fourth-quarter display sealing the victory as the hosts finished third in the tournament. Lucina von der Heyde (2’, 47’), Sangita Kumari (24’), and Hannah Cotter (55’, 60’) scored goals for the Royals, while Navneet Kaur (10’, 58’) netted a brace for the Pipers, who have already qualified for the Final of the tournament.

SG Pipers seemed to have momentarily lost the plot just ahead of the big final as it was humbled by the already-eliminated Ranchi Royals 2-5 in the highest-scoring encounter of the 2025-26 edition.

Gurjot Singh eyes permanent senior spot after Junior World Cup glory

Gurjot Singh was going through his usual regimen at the junior training camp at the Sports Authority of India centre in Bengaluru when he was caught by surprise. At this time, he was in the reckoning for the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025, which was still more than 12 months away, and had played for India at the Hockey 5s World Cup. But the then 20-year-old had no inkling of the curveball heading his way.
