As all of Indiana field hockey’s home games do, the match began with the blaring trumpets of "Narcos" by Timmy Trumpet, firing up the crowd, getting everyone excited. As each team huddled before the start, the energy and anticipation slowly built. However, the enthusiasm was met with a disappointing end, as Indiana lost 1-0 to Miami University on Wednesday afternoon.

Resilient Pakistan register 2-1 win against Japan



Moqi (China), 11 September 2024: Unbeaten Pakistan played valiantly to register their first victory in the Hero Asian Champions Trophy by beating Japan 2-1 here at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulun Buir, China on Wednesday. Goals were scored by Ahmad Nadeem (10') and Sufyan Khan (21') while Raiki Fujishima (28') scored the lone goal for Japan. With this win, Pakistan is placed second in the pool standings with five points behind India on the top.

The Pakistan hockey team beats Japan after a two-year wait. The win came in the group stage match of the ongoing Asian Champions Trophy in China 2024. Pakistan won the match 2-1, thanks to goals from Ahmed Nadeem and Sufyan Khan.

England-based Teague Marcano registered his second beaver-trick on the trot and fourth of the tournament to lead T&T senior men’s hockey to break open a 2-1 match to spank Peru 6-1 for a fourth straight win, which all but secured to an emphatic 11-0 mauling of winless Guatemala in their penultimate round-robin match of the four-team Men’s Pan American Challenge Wednesday.

Tayyab Ikram, the current President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), is set to be re-elected for a second term during the FIH Congress on November 9, 2024, in Muscat, Oman.

Incumbent International Hockey Federation (FIH) president Tayyab Ikram is set to be elected unopposed as the head of the world body at its 49th Congress in Muscat, Oman on November 9.

The last bilateral series between the two neighbours took place in 2006, which Pakistan won 3-1 and since then, they have faced each other only in international tournaments due to political tensions between the two nations.

International Hockey Federation (FIH) president Tayyab Ikram on Tuesday said they will resume bilateral contests between India and Pakistan “tomorrow” if given a choice, as the storied rivalry makes the sport stronger.

Sanction Imposed on Tom Craig

Following an investigation into the arrest involving National Men’s Hockey Team athlete Tom Craig at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Hockey Australia’s Integrity Unit has imposed a 12-month suspension. Six months of this suspension will be served fully, with the remaining six months fully suspended, contingent upon meeting conduct and behavioural requirements.
