Tom Harris

The 53rd Annual Tom Harris California Cup Field Hockey Invitational Tournament begins on Friday morning at 7:00 with the start of competition in the Women and Men Super Divisions at Moorpark College and concludes on Memorial Day afternoon.

Renamed this year to honor the 89-year-young tournament founder, Tom Harris, the 2025 edition of one of the oldest and largest field hockey tournaments in the world, more popularly known as the Cal Cup, will include 119 teams, consisting of over 1,200 athletes competing in 13 divisions ranging from Under-8 to Men and Women Super Divisions. The super divisions will feature current and former international players from Argentina, Australia, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain and USA. The competition will take place at Moorpark College, Royal High School and Campus Canyon Park, from May 23 through May 26.

Harris will be inducted into the USAFH Hall of Fame at the end of this year. On Sunday at 5pm, the tournament will celebrate Tom’s induction at Harris Family Field and Simon Hoskins, CEO of USAFH, will present him with HoF trophy, in the presence of dignitaries from City of Moorpark, Moorpark College, and LA 28. “To pay homage to Tom we have put his name on the tournament to live on into posterity,” said Marc Bakerman, Cal Cup Committee Chair & Tournament Director. Bakerman was appointed by Tom and is the longest serving official in his position. “It’s been my greatest honor to serve in this position and keep the traditions of Cal Cup as the world’s best field hockey tournament alive and thriving for many more years,” added Bakerman.

In addition to the cash prize in super divisions, all players in the top three teams of each division will receive gold, silver, or bronze medals.
