The Cavaliers defeated the Blue Devils to mark their best start to the season since 2010

No. 3 Virginia field hockey traveled down to Durham, N.C. Friday to face No. 9 Duke for their first in-conference road game of the season. The undefeated Cavaliers (8-0, 3-0 ACC) won a defensive showdown to closely eke past the Blue Devils (4-4, 0-1 ACC) in a 1-0 victory.



No. 5 Maryland field hockey narrowly falls to No. 2 Northwestern, 1-0

Northwestern’s Ashley Sessa and Lauren Hunter entered Friday tied for the team’s assist leaders this season. The duo has had regular contributions on penalty corners. In a game that was defined by those penalty corners, the pair added to that tally.



No. 5 Maryland drops close game to No. 2 Northwestern, 1-0

The Terps lost to a ranked team 1-0 for the third time this season.

On a humid, gloomy Friday night at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex, No. 5 Maryland field hockey was defeated, 1-0, by No. 2 Northwestern.

After cross-country travel for their first away games of the year, the now No. 12 Bears will continue their on-the-road campaign at UC Davis this Sunday — following their first loss of the season at No. 2 Virginia 3-4 and a win over James Madison University 3-0.



Minutewomen Claim Comeback Victory Over No. 6 Saint Joseph's



AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts (7-2, 2-0) claimed another thrilling comeback victory, with a 2-1 overtime win over Saint Joseph's (7-2, 1-1) on Friday at Ellen Ryan Field. The Minutewomen recorded their seventh straight win, defeating the Hawks for the first time since Oct. 15, 2021.

MERION STATION, Pa. – The sixth-ranked Saint Joseph's field hockey team fell to UMass, 2-1, in overtime on a dreary Friday afternoon at Ellen Ryan Field.



Drexel Downs No. 20 Monmouth for Third Straight Victory, 2-1



PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel field hockey team earned their third straight victory Friday afternoon, defeating No. 20 Monmouth 2-1 to move to 2-0 in conference play. This marks the Dragon's third consecutive season with a victory over a ranked opponent (defeated No. 20 UAlbany 4-3 in 2023 and No. 20 William & Mary 1-0 in 2022).

Temple Field Hockey’s kryptonite the last three seasons has been ranked opponents. The Owls were looking to get over the hump against No. 18 Old Dominion, a team that has dominated the Owls for the last five years. Following four straight losses, Temple defeated La Salle on Sept. 22 and a win against the Monarchs seemed to be the chance it needed to get back on track

RedHawks Shutout Ball State 3-0



MUNCIE, IND. – The Miami University field hockey team shutout the Ball State University Cardinals 3-0 on Friday evening. This pushes the RedHawks' record to 5-4 on the season (2-1 Mid-American Conference). Ball State drops to 1-6 (0-2 MAC).

Coming out of halftime, Central Michigan field hockey needed something big to happen. Down two goals, and being out-shot on offense, the Chippewas finally caught a break.
